Ciao Milan, Hola Madrid!
26 April. What an amazing time, I’ve seen Milan and I am now ready to venture somewhere to visit companies in Madrid. For the last two months, I have been liaising with Mrs Carmen Torralbo and IATA. Carmen has been amazing liaising with the company visit at Cuatros Vientos Airport.
Cuatros Vientos Airport is the oldest Spanish airport which was established in 1911 for military purposes. Today, the airport is a joint civil and military purpose airfield. The activities planned were airport tour of the Infante de Orleans Foundation Aviation Museum where Mr Pedro Permanyer escorted us in the hangar and maintenance facilities.
Mr Javier de Castro escorted the group around the European Flyers school where young pilots were able to gain their life dream to become a pilot. Mr Castro greeted all students at the door and encouraged all students to view the operations room, flight simulators and see their new aircraft they have recently purchased.
After these events, we had the pleasure to sit down and have amazing traditional Spanish food which was presented to us. Goat cheese salad, paella valencian style, black forest tart and crocanti ice cream. I could not fault any meal and was impressed with the hospitality.
After the meal, Mr Pedro Matias spoke to all students related to aviation business growth over the years and how Iberia as a flying company will continue to grow with the acquisition with British Airways.
Once again, I would like to thank Carmen and all personnel who gave us a wonderful experience at Cuatros Vientos Airport!
