One of ABBA17’s courses this semester was to organise a study trip and visit companies abroad. I have previous experience of liaising with new companies and gaining access to their facilities can be challenging. Being the first Aviation degree in Finland, I assumed it was going to be merely impossible.

It’s 2230 on Sunday 23 April, the night prior to our departure. I’m not entirely too sure if I can sleep…. Checking my luggage, the third time to make sure I have everything for company visits and required paperwork…. It’s now 0300 and I have not slept! Let’s shower and get ready for the unknown. All students were to arrive and meet at Helsinki Vantaa Airport early in the morning to catch a flight from Helsinki, Finland to Riga, Latvia then to Milan, Italy.
